Thailand ready to talk with China about rail link



Thailand and China would like to talk about co-investment in Thailand's new standard-gauge rail link and high-speed train project in this month. Mr Korbsak Sabhavasu, secretary of Prime Minister, set up two committees to analyze the projects on 5/08/2010. The high-speed rail line from Suvarnabhumi airport to Rayong on the Eastern Coast through Pattaya and Laem Chabang. Laos and Nong Khai in Thailand's northeast to connect with Malaysia and Sigapore. A new standard-gauge rail line is estimate to cost 300 billion baht. The high-speed rail project linking is estimate to cost 30 billion bath. Mr Korbsak Sabhavasu said two committees were required to achieve thier study in two weeks. The new rail line will benefit travel in region as the trains network. It lies on China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Sigapore. The new train will run at 200 kilometers an hour and 1,000-kilometers old rail lines in Thailand must be developed. It will take 3 years to build with investment fund, 170 billion bath. Although Signing deal with China will success or not, this development must be done.
In my opinion, it is a good chance to develop Thailand rail lines because train is the most important transportation in Thailand and we have trains for long times ago without developing
